Create this easy to make hanging ‘Macrame’ Christmas tree.
Macramé Christmas Tree
Cut 1 piece of string 20 inches long.
Cut 20 pieces of string in varying lengths – 4 each of 3”, 3½”, 4”, 4 ½” and 5”.
Fold the long piece in half and tie a knot below the fold, leaving a loop at the top.
Pull the string ends through the bead.
Start creating the branches starting with the 3-inch lengths.
Fold one piece in half and lay it under the centre with the loop on the left.
Fold another piece in half and lay it over the centre piece with the loop on the right.
Pull the ends of each piece through the loop from the opposite piece and pull tight to create your first knot.
Make your second branch using the other two 3-inch lengths, but this time putting the bottom loop to the right and the top loop to the left.
Repeat the knots with the remaining pieces of string, alternating the sides of the loops with each branch, working your way up the increasing lengths.
Using scissors trim the branches at an angle to make a tree shape.
